Firm closure notification – General notice to all Clients of the Solicitors Practice, past, present and returning.
We would like to advise all our clients that the Solicitor’s practice of Gillian Gadd & Co will be closed for all solicitor’s business from 31st March 2023.
The firm’s Notary business Gillian Gadd & Co. Notary Public will continue to operate as normal, providing all notarial, identification and legalisation of documents exactly as before.
The firm’s legal services company Gillian Gadd & Co. Ltd, will continue to offer will writing, preparation of lasting powers of attorney and some probate services as before.
However, after 31st March 2023 we will not be undertaking any more conveyancing work.
Current conveyancing matters as at 31st March 2023
Under SRA regulations any clients with current conveyancing matters will have their files transferred to another firm of your choosing or to themselves and any monies held by Gillian Gadd & Co Solicitors will be returned on or before that date.
Wills and LPA store
Where we are holding your wills and LPA documents in our firm’s safe fireproof store facility, these will now be held by the firm Gillian Gadd & Co. Notary Public. All such documents will continue to be held to your order free of charge. They will be returned to you or forwarded to another firm on request – usually this will be free of charge in the event of collection from our office in Crawley or if sent to you by ordinary post. An administration fee for processing the return will be charged if the document is to be sent by registered post or by courier.
Old Files
These will continue to be stored in secure archive storage free of charge and securely destroyed after 6 years from date of completion in accordance with our standard terms and conditions of business and the provisions of the Data Protection Act. Any file still in archive store can be returned subject to an administration fee for copying and processing the release and return of the file.
